The fireworks display of the Nit de l'Albà, held on the night of August 13 in honor of the patron saint of Elche, composed among other fireworks by the traditional large palm tree of the Virgin, which reaches 300 meters in height.
A few minutes before midnight, the thunder and bursts of light suddenly stop, the lights go out, the Gloria Patri sounds the last chant of the Misteri d'Elx and from the top of the tower of the Basilica of Santa Maria rises the majestic Palm Tree of the Virgin, an offering to the patron saint that illuminates the entire city.
